S.C.Varma, Chartered Accountant

I have been working out of this space in Kalyanpuri at 15/497 for quite some time now. My name is S.C. Varma, and this is where I handle all the accounting and tax work that comes my way. It is a modest office in a busy part of New Delhi. You will not find any shiny brochures or receptionists here. It is just me and a couple of helpers working through tax returns and balance sheets. Most of the people who come here are small business owners from the local market. They bring in their bags of bills, and we try to make sense of it all. It can be a bit overwhelming sometimes when the laws change, but we stay on top of it. I like being in Kalyanpuri because it feels like a real neighborhood. Everyone knows each other. My desk is usually covered in folders and pens. I do not really have a philosophy other than finishing the work on time. Sometimes I am here late into the evening during March or April. People just drop in when they have a question about their GST or income tax. I do not charge for every little chat. It is more about helping neighbors out while making a living. It is a steady life, dealing with numbers every day. I have seen kids grow up and start their own businesses and come back to me for their taxes. It keeps me busy.
