Sankalp For Khadi Foundation

Up on the third floor of the LIC Society in Janakpuri, that is where you will find the Sankalp For Khadi Foundation. We are located at C 3A/80C on Pankha Road. It is a busy road, and you can always hear the horns and the movement from outside, but once you get up to the third floor, it is a bit quieter. We work a lot with Khadi, which is something we have always felt connected to. It isn't about being a big fashion house. It is more about the material and the people who make it. Our space is usually filled with samples of fabric and stacks of papers. It gets a bit crowded sometimes, and we are always shuffling things around to make more room for new boxes. We aren't fancy people. Most of us just wear what is comfortable and get to work. Being in a residential society like this means we know our neighbors, and they know we are the people working on cloth projects. We spend a lot of time talking to weavers and trying to figure out how to get their stuff to more people. It is a lot of back-and-forth, and sometimes things go wrong with the shipping or the colors aren't quite right, but we just keep at it. It is honest work. We don't have a big marketing team. It is just us here in Janakpuri, trying to keep a traditional craft going.
