S. L. Prakashan

You can find S. L. Prakashan over at Plot No.-A-5 in Mayapuri Industrial Phase-I. This part of Delhi is always noisy with all the factories and workshops, and we fit right in with the sound of our machines. We have been in the printing business for a good number of years now. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the industrial area, but once you find A-5, that’s us. The floor is usually covered with paper scraps and the smell of ink is everywhere, which is something you just get used to. We do a lot of different types of printing work here, from small books to various forms for local businesses. It is a family-run kind of place, so there is usually someone from the family around to see what’s going on. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or waiting rooms. You just walk in and talk to whoever is at the desk or near the machines. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them, but we always get the work done eventually. It is hard work and the hours can be long when we have a big order to finish. We’ve stayed in Mayapuri because it’s where all the action is. It’s a gritty place but it’s where we do our best work. We aren't trying to be some massive publishing house, just a steady shop that delivers what we promise.
