S. L. Craft Exporters Pvt. Ltd. is tucked into Flat No. 77 on Mehrauli Road, right in that area between Adchini and Sarvodaya Enclave. It is a busy spot, and the traffic outside never really seems to stop, even late at night. Inside, it is a different story. We usually have boxes stacked up to the ceiling waiting to go out to wherever they are needed next. There is always the smell of wood and different fabrics in the air. We have been working out of this flat for quite some time now. It gets a bit cramped when a big shipment comes in, and we all have to dodge the crates just to get to the back room or the phone. The staff has been here for years, so we all know how to handle the packing without getting in each other's way. Sometimes the tea lady comes by and we take a break, but mostly we are just busy checking lists and making sure things are wrapped right. Moving things overseas is mostly about waiting for trucks and filling out forms that never seem to end. It's not a glamorous life, but we like the work. Being on Mehrauli Road means we see a lot of people passing by, but we stay focused on what’s inside the boxes. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit by the window to see what we are doing. It's just a regular local business trying to get things from one place to another. We just keep going.
