Rustogi Gifts & Handicrafts

We have a small shop called Rustogi Gifts & Handicrafts located in Palam Colony. It’s a very residential area, so we see a lot of the same faces every day. The shop is packed with all sorts of things, from small wooden boxes to little statues and wall hangings. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to stack things pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you’re looking for, but we usually know where everything is buried. We spend a lot of time wrapping things in old newspapers or bubble wrap so they don't break on the way home. It’s a bit of a messy process. The street outside is always busy with scooters and people walking to the market. We sit near the entrance to catch the breeze. We aren't a big corporation; it’s just us trying to keep the shop running and making sure we have enough stock for the festival seasons. People come in looking for something to give at a wedding or a birthday. We don't do any big advertising. Mostly, it’s just people from the colony stopping by because they were walking past anyway. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. We've been here long enough that the shop feels like a second home to us. It gets a bit dusty with all the items on the shelves, but we clean it when we can.
