Rudraksha Environment Foundation is over near the Vegetable Market, specifically at numbers 19/22 in New Delhi. Being right by the market means it is always noisy and full of life from early in the morning. You can hear the vendors calling out and the smell of fresh produce is everywhere. We spend a lot of our time dealing with environmental matters and trying to figure out practical ways to handle things. Our desks are usually covered in notes and old newspapers. It is not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. The people around the market know us by now, and we often stop to chat with the shopkeepers when we go out for lunch. It feels like we are part of the community here, which is important for the kind of work we do. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate slogans painted on the walls. Just a few calendars and some photos of the projects we have worked on. The wiring in the building is a bit old, so we have to be careful not to run too many things at once. It is a simple life in this part of 110023, and we just focus on getting through the tasks we have set for ourselves each week without any fuss or extra noise.
