Ram Prashad Makhan Lal

Our place, Ram Prashad Makhan Lal, is right in the middle of Khari Baoli at number 453. If you know the area, you know how crowded and loud it gets with all the carts and people moving around. We have been here for a while. It’s a small space, packed with stuff, but we know where everything is. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. People come from all over to this market. It’s an old part of the city, and our shop fits right in with the rest of them. We don’t do anything fancy. We just show up, open the doors, and start the day. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the goods we handle, but that’s normal for Khari Baoli. My father used to say that as long as the work is honest, the rest doesn't matter much. We have regular customers who have been coming to 453 for years. They know our faces and we know theirs. It feels like a small community even though the market is huge. We don't spend money on ads or anything. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking past. It's a simple way to run a business, and it works for us. We'll be here tomorrow morning just like today.
