Puri Designs is located at Plot No. T 39 in Karol Bagh. If you know Delhi, you know how busy Karol Bagh can get. Our little spot is right in the middle of all that energy. It’s a small space, and we have fabric samples and design sketches scattered all over the tables. It looks a bit messy to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. I started this because I liked the idea of making things from scratch. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just me and a couple of assistants who know how to use a needle and thread better than anyone else. We spend a lot of time talking to people about what they want. Sometimes the ideas they have don't really work with the materials, so we have to figure out a middle ground. We aren't trying to be a high-fashion brand you see in magazines. We just want to make designs that people feel comfortable using. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the work. It can be stressful when we have a lot of orders piled up, but we take it one day at a time. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People just see our work and come in to ask if we can do something similar for them.
