We’ve been tucked away here on the upper ground floor in Street Kait for a while now. If you know the Sangtarashan area in Paharganj, you know how hectic the streets get near the Sai Mandir. It’s always crowded and noisy, which is actually why we started Peaceful Rebellion For Happy Roads Foundation. Living and working right in the middle of New Delhi traffic makes you realize how much we need better roads and a bit more kindness when we’re driving. We aren't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything. It's just a few of us in this 110055 zip code area trying to figure out how to make things move smoother. Sometimes the noise from the street comes right through the windows while we’re talking. It reminds us why we’re doing this. We spend a lot of our time just chatting with locals and trying to get people to slow down a bit. It’s not always easy, and some days it feels like we aren't making much of a dent in the chaos. But then you see someone stop for a pedestrian or smile at a red light, and it feels okay. We don't have some big corporate plan. It’s mostly just us looking out the window at the bikes and rickshaws, thinking of ways to make the commute less of a headache for everyone. If you’re ever near the temple, you’ve probably walked right past our door without even knowing it.
