Pawan Aggarwal & Co. has been operating out of Plot No Z-180 in Loha Mandi for a long time. Naraina is a famous place for the iron and steel trade, and Loha Mandi is the heart of it. It’s a rough and tumble kind of place with heavy trucks constantly blocking the roads and the sound of metal clanging everywhere. Our plot is just one of many, but we’ve made it our own over the years. It is a very busy atmosphere, and you have to be careful walking around because of all the cranes and loading going on. We don't bother with much office decor. It’s mostly just desks, chairs, and stacks of ledgers. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from truck drivers to big contractors. Everyone is in a hurry in Naraina, so we try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It gets very cold in the winter and incredibly hot in the summer because of all the metal around us. We just drink our tea and get on with the work. It isn’t a place for someone who likes peace and quiet. But for us, the noise means things are happening. We know the rhythms of the market and how to get things done in Plot Z-180 without making a big deal out of it. We stay until the last truck is loaded and the gates are locked up for the night.
