Nisha Furniture & S. S. Graft Work

Our workshop is at Shop No. 2669 in Gali No. 8. This is in the Multani Dhanda area of Paharganj, specifically near Chuna Mandi. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are quite cramped. We do a mix of furniture making and stainless steel graft work. There is always the sound of cutting metal or sanding wood coming from our shop. The floor is usually covered in sawdust or small metal shavings by lunchtime. It’s a messy job, but we don't mind it much. We have been working in this lane for a long time. People around here know us for the noise we make. We have various tools hanging on the walls and pieces of wood leaning against the corners. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear nice clothes because you'll probably get something on them. We don't have a fancy showroom; we just show people what we are currently building. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough to work with the metal, but we just take breaks and drink plenty of water. The neighbors are used to us, and we are used to them. It’s a busy, gritty environment but it’s where we do our best work. Most of our day is spent measuring, cutting, and fitting things together. It's hard work but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
