Naya Ujala Social Foundation

Naya Ujala Social Foundation is located at Shop No. Ff-8 in the Vinayak Central Plaza. That’s over on 35 M.G. Marg in the Civil Lines area. Since we’re in a plaza, it’s a bit different from being in a house. We’re up on the first floor. The elevator in this building works most of the time, but we usually just take the stairs anyway. It’s a small shop space that we’ve converted into our office. It gets quite a bit of light from the main hallway, which is good because our indoor lights are a bit dim. Being on M.G. Marg means there’s always something happening outside. You can hear the traffic and the horns all day long. Sometimes it’s hard to concentrate, but you get used to it after a while. We have a few chairs for visitors, but they’re usually covered in papers or someone’s bag. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have more than a couple of people in here. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the number on the door. People from the other shops in the plaza sometimes come by to borrow a stapler or just to chat for a minute. It’s a busy spot in a busy part of town. We just show up every day and do what needs doing. It’s not a big glamorous thing, just our little corner in Civil Lines.
