Navkalyan Welfare Foundation

Navkalyan Welfare Foundation is over at A1B/117A on the ground floor. We’re in Janak Puri, right near the British Man Saloon. It’s actually an old clinic space, so it has a lot of small rooms which we find quite handy. Being on the ground floor is great because it means anyone can just pop in without having to climb stairs or use an elevator. We’ve been here for a while now and have become part of the local scene. New Delhi is a busy place, but Janak Puri has its own feel to it. Our foundation is just a small group of us trying to do some good in the area. We don't have a big budget or a PR team. We just do the work. A lot of our day is spent talking to folks from the neighborhood and trying to sort out various issues. The office is pretty plain, just some desks and chairs. We don't really care about how it looks as long as it’s functional. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the salon nearby and all the people walking past, but we don't mind. It keeps us connected to what’s going on outside. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We’re just a bunch of people working out of an old clinic to help out where we can. It’s simple, honest work and we like it.
