Our place is over at 47-B in Kalu Sarai, right in the Sarvapriya Vihar area. If you know the neighborhood, you know how crowded it gets with students and vendors everywhere. The office is tucked into the building there, and it’s usually buzzing from early morning. We’ve got rows of benches and whiteboards that see a lot of use every single day. The walls are covered in notices and old calendars. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the stacks of study materials waiting to be handed out. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to folks who walk in off the street. The traffic outside on the main road is constant, so there’s always a background noise of horns and engines. We keep the water cooler filled and the lights on until late in the evening. It’s a practical setup, nothing too stylish or modern. The floor is a bit worn in the spots where people stand the most. We mostly just focus on getting through the daily tasks, like checking attendance and making sure the rooms are clean for the next group. It’s a lot of manual work behind the scenes that people don’t always see. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in. That’s just life in Kalu Sarai, and we have learned to work with it.
