Mohan Store

Mohan Store has been sitting at shop number 33 in INA Market for a long time. It’s a busy spot. People come in all day for stuff they need. We spend most of our time restocking shelves or counting change. The market is always loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping for dinner. We know a lot of the regulars who live nearby. They stop in for a quick chat while they pick up their bags. It’s not a big fancy supermarket, just a local store where things are packed tight on the shelves. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things on the floor. The floor is old tile and shows its age. We don’t mind. It’s home for us. My father started this and now we just keep it going. There’s a ceiling fan that squeaks every time it turns, but it keeps us cool in the summer. We handle all sorts of daily items. If you can’t find something, you just ask. We usually know exactly which corner it’s tucked into. Working in INA Market means you see a lot of different people every day. It’s never really boring. We stay open pretty late most nights. By the time we pull the shutters down, my feet usually ache. But then we do it all again the next morning. It’s just how it works at Mohan Store. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure the bags are filled.
