Mk Arts

Mk Arts is over at Plot No B23 in Budh Vihar. This is where we do all our creative work, though it’s more about the physical labor than anything else. We do signs, boards, and various types of art for shops and homes. If you walk into our place, you’ll likely see paint cans, brushes, and pieces of wood or metal scattered around. It’s a workshop, not a gallery. We’ve got paint on the walls and definitely some on our clothes most of the time. Budh Vihar is a quiet enough area compared to the city center, which gives us the space we need to work. We started Mk Arts because we were good at making things by hand. We don't use a lot of fancy software; it’s more about the hand-eye coordination. Some days we are outside installing a sign, and other days we are inside the plot finishing up a painting job. We don’t have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. It’s a straightforward way to live. We’ve built up a decent group of local clients who know they can just drop by and see how their project is coming along. It’s not a polished business, but it’s ours and we enjoy the process of making things. We have a big wooden table in the middle of the room where most of the assembly happens.
