Our office is on the 6th floor of the DCM Building, which is right on Barakhamba Road. If you take the metro, it’s a short walk from the station, which makes the commute easier for most of the team here. L&T Insurance Ltd. has been in this spot for some time. It’s a standard office setup with computers, some filing cabinets that are getting too full, and a breakroom where the microwave is always in use. Barakhamba Road is usually packed with cars and people, so looking out the window during a break is actually pretty interesting. We handle insurance stuff, which mostly involves a lot of reading and checking details on screens. It isn’t glamorous, but it’s what we do. The lighting in the office is a bit bright, and sometimes the air conditioning feels too cold, but we have our sweaters ready. We try to help people figure out their policies without using too much jargon. Most of us have been here long enough that we can tell who is walking down the hall just by the sound of their shoes. It’s a steady place to work. We don’t have any grand displays in the lobby, just a sign telling you where to go. We keep our heads down and work through the piles of claims and paperwork that come in every morning. The lift can be slow around lunchtime.
