Lally Empowerment Foundation

Lally Empowerment Foundation is located over at Gayatri Ghat in the Nauvagarhi area. We are set up at the house of Ramesh Prasad Agarwal, near the Chand Chaura spot. It is a place with a lot of local history around it, which we like. You can hear the various sounds from the ghat during the day, and that makes for a pretty interesting atmosphere while we are working on our files. The office is not anything special to look at, just a functional space with some desks and chairs where we get things done. We usually have the windows open to let in the breeze, even if it gets a bit dusty from the road outside sometimes. People in Nauvagarhi know where Gayatri Ghat is, so they do not have much trouble finding us once they get to the right corner. We spend our afternoons going through the local requirements and talking to anyone who happens to come by. It is a lot of manual work, keeping records in paper ledgers and making sure nothing gets lost or forgotten. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just wait it out or work by the light coming through the door. There is always something to do, whether it is answering the phone or just cleaning up the workspace at the end of the day. We like being part of this community because everyone knows each other. It is not a corporate environment, just a group of people trying to be useful.
