Lakshmi Art Studio

Our studio is located on the second floor of a building in Nangloi. We are right near Vishal Garden, so if you look out the window on a clear day, you can see a bit of the greenery over there. Being on the second floor means we have to haul our supplies up the stairs, which can be a bit of a workout depending on what we’re carrying that day. Lakshmi Art Studio isn’t a massive gallery; it’s more of a working space where we actually make things. There are brushes and frames and bits of canvas all over the place. Nangloi is a busy area with a lot of shops and people moving around, so the noise from the street definitely reaches us up here. We have some good light coming in through the front windows, which is important for the art work we do. The walls have a few scuffs and there’s always a bit of paint on the floor that won't ever come off. We don't mind it much. It feels like a place where things are actually being created. Vishal Garden is a nice place to walk through when we need a break from the studio for a few minutes. We’ve been based in Nangloi for a good while and it suits us just fine. It’s a simple, honest space on the second floor where we spend most of our waking hours just doing what we do.
