Our shop is over at No. 2 L in Lajpat Nagar. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets around here. We have boxes arriving all the time and the back room is always a bit of a mess with tape and cardboard. We sell all sorts of things and the shelves are usually pretty packed. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are in the aisle. We have been here for a bit now and the neighbors are all friendly enough. Some days are really quiet and we just sit around checking the stock levels or cleaning the glass. Other days, everyone comes in at once and it is a bit of a scramble. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Most of our regulars just walk in from the street. The floor gets scuffed up from all the foot traffic, so we mop it every evening before locking up. It’s just a regular retail spot. We deal with suppliers who are sometimes late and customers who have a lot of questions. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets extra busy. We don't use any high-tech systems, just a basic ledger and a till that sometimes gets stuck. It’s a bit old-fashioned but it works for us. We just try to keep the popular items in stock so nobody leaves disappointed. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but it’s okay. We keep going until the shutters go down at night.
