Mir Shocker

Bazar Matia Mahal is always crowded, and that is where you will find us at No. 211. Being near Jama Masjid means there is constant movement and noise outside our shop. We focus on shockers and suspension work for vehicles. It is greasy, heavy work, and our hands are usually covered in oil by noon. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. We have tools hanging on the walls and old parts piled up in the corners. People bring their bikes or cars when the ride starts feeling bumpy. We take the shockers apart, see what's broken, and fix them up. Sometimes the parts are so old we have to search around the market to find a replacement. That is the thing about being in this part of Delhi; you can find almost anything if you look hard enough. We have been here at Mir Shocker for quite some time. The heat in the summer can be tough inside the shop, but we just keep working. We see a lot of different people every day. Some are locals, and others travel from far away because they heard we can fix things others can't. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer. It is a simple life, just fixing one thing after another. It’s messy but we like the work.
