If you come down to Shop No. 6 in Building No 77 at Kirti Nagar, you will find us right in the thick of things. Kirti Nagar is famous for furniture, so there is always the smell of cut wood and varnish in the air. At Gupta Furniture Industries, things are usually pretty dusty because of all the sanding we do. We have tools laying around on the workbenches and piles of sawdust in the corners that we sweep up at the end of every day. It is a loud place with the sound of saws and hammers going from morning until evening. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office; we just work where the benches are. The space is a bit dark, but we have some big overhead lights so we can see what we are doing. Moving heavy wardrobes and tables around is part of the daily routine, so everyone here is pretty tired by the time we close up. We have been in this building for quite a while and know all the other shop owners nearby. Sometimes we share a tea with the guys from the next building over. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty, but that is just the nature of the business. We don't put on any acts for anyone who walks in. You see the wood, you see the tools, and you see us working on whatever is on the floor that day.
