Jr. Engg.

We’ve been here in Shahdara for quite some time now. Our place is tucked away at 6/39, Mohalla Maharam. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how busy these streets get during the day. It’s mostly just us working with the machines and trying to get through the orders. Some days are louder than others depending on what’s on the floor. It isn’t fancy at all. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but the work gets done. Most of the guys have been here a few years and we just know how things go. We start early when the air is a bit cooler before the city really wakes up. Usually, there's a lot of tea rounds and some talk about the traffic on the way in. It’s a local operation, nothing more. We don’t spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty for a website. Our focus is really just on the engineering stuff we handle every day. When you walk in, you’ll see parts and tools everywhere because that is how it is. It’s a bit dusty but that’s normal for an engineering shop in this area. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job for whoever comes through the door. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing them. That’s just life at Jr. Engg. and we wouldn't have it any other way.
