Jain Provision Stores

We are located at Jhilmil Colony a 133 in Vivek Vihar. Jain Provision Stores has been the place where the locals get their daily stuff for years. It’s a typical neighborhood store. We have bags of flour, lentils, and all the small things people realize they ran out of while cooking dinner. The mornings are always the busiest when people are getting milk and bread for breakfast. It gets a little chaotic with everyone talking at once, but we’ve gotten used to the noise. We don't have any fancy aisles or shopping carts. It’s more about asking for what you need and we pull it from the shelves or the back room. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery truck to show up in the afternoon. That’s just how it goes with a small shop. My family has been doing this for a while now. We know who likes which brand of tea and who always forgets to bring their own bag. The shop is full of the smell of spices and soaps. It’s not a supermarket, just a place that belongs to the colony. We don’t spend much time on decorations. The walls are mostly covered with shelves from floor to ceiling. We stay open late most days because people always need something at the last minute. It’s tiring work but we like being part of the neighborhood and seeing the same faces every day.
