We are based in Dwarka Sector 12, at Plot No -7, F1 in Pankaj Plaza. It’s right in the middle of the Sector 12 Market area. If you’ve been to the market, you probably know how crowded it can get, especially in the evenings. Our institute, the Institute Of Urban Sciences And Design, is right in the thick of it. It’s a convenient spot because we have all the shops and food places right downstairs. The office itself is a bit compact, but we make it work for the design and urban science stuff we handle. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and urban layouts. It can be quite technical and dry, but it’s what we do every day. The morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting some air in before it gets too hot. We have a few desks crammed in, and there’s always a stack of books or reports somewhere. Being in a plaza means we share the floor with a few other businesses, so you hear the usual office sounds through the walls. It’s not a quiet library, that’s for sure. We don’t have a big reception desk or anything like that. People just walk in and we talk to them. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. Most of our day is spent at our desks or meeting with people who are interested in urban planning. It keeps us pretty occupied from Monday to Saturday. We usually wrap things up when the market starts getting even noisier in the late evening. It’s just how things go here.
