We are based up in Dehradun, which is a nice change from the bigger cities, though it is getting more crowded every year. Our office for the Indian School of Petroleum is located in Chawdhary Colony, right near the Haridwar Bypass. It is actually at the property of Er. A. Chandra, which gives it a much more personal feel than a big glass building. Being right opposite the ISBT means there are always buses and travelers around, so it is easy for people to find us once they get off the bus. The address is number 12 in the colony. We deal with the petroleum sector, mostly focusing on the training and education side of things. It is a specialized field, but we keep things pretty simple in the office. The air is a bit better here than in the plains, but the traffic on the bypass can be a headache during peak hours. We have a small team, and we all know each other well. It is the kind of place where you can get a cup of tea and talk about the day’s tasks without a lot of formal meetings. Dehradun has a certain pace to it, and we try to stick to that. We are not trying to be the biggest school out there, just a reliable place where people can learn about the industry in a quiet, focused environment. The hills are close by, and that makes for a decent view when the weather is clear.
