You’ll find us at T-117 on the first floor, tucked away at the back side of Okhla Main Market. Jamia Nagar is always buzzing, and being right in the market means there's never a dull moment. The Ilma Educational And Social Foundation operates from this small space above the shops. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, and it can be a bit tricky to find us if you don’t know the market well, but once you’re inside, it’s a calm spot. We’ve got desks and some old shelves filled with books and papers. It’s not a fancy corporate suite, just a place where we can sit down and focus. The noise from the street filtered through the windows is the soundtrack to our day. We spend a lot of time talking to local students and families who stop by. We don't have a big fancy staff, just a few of us who have been around Jamia Nagar for a long time. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, or the market gets so crowded it takes forever just to get lunch. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We’re just a local foundation trying to help out with education and social stuff. It’s practical, everyday work. We keep our doors open and try to be as helpful as possible to whoever walks in from the market looking for a bit of guidance.
