Higgins School

Higgins School is located at P-96 on the second floor, right on Pandit Chaturlal Road in South Extension 2. Being on the second floor means we have a lot of stairs to climb every day, which definitely keeps us awake. The area around South Ex is always crowded, so finding the building can be a bit of a task for newcomers who are not used to the traffic. Once you get up here, it is a bit quieter than the street below. We have desks and chairs packed into the rooms. The windows look out over the rooftops of Delhi. We have been here for a while and most of the families in the area know us by now. It is a straightforward school. We do not have any big elevators or marble floors. It is mostly just whiteboards, notebooks, and a lot of pens. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows to get some air moving. The staff here has been around for years, so we all know each other's routines. We handle the paperwork, talk to the parents, and try to keep the students focused on their books. It is a small community inside this building. Lunch breaks are usually spent sharing food in the small staff area. We try to keep things tidy, but with so many kids, there is always a stray eraser or a pencil somewhere on the ground. It is just how it goes in a busy Delhi school.
