Haldikhora Public School

Haldikhora Public School is at H 4/67 in the Bengali Colony area of Mahavir Enclave. It is right in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so we are surrounded by houses and small local shops. The school is part of the daily life of the colony. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long, from people selling vegetables on the street to neighbors talking. The building itself is a standard concrete structure that we’ve tried to keep up over the years. It’s not a huge place, so everyone knows each other’s faces. The kids mostly walk from their homes nearby, so there isn't a big mess of buses in the morning. Inside, the rooms are fairly simple. We have the usual desks and chairs, and the walls are decorated with some of the work the students have done. The light in the hallways is a bit dim, but the classrooms get enough sun from the windows. We don't have a big playground, so the students mostly play in the small courtyard we have during their break. The office is small and usually has a few parents waiting to pay fees or ask about their children. We spend our time making sure the books are covered and the lessons are planned out. It’s just a regular local school trying to do its part for the families living in the enclave.
