Gupta Store

If you are walking around Wazir Nagar, you will find us right across from the ICICI Bank near Defence Colony. Our shop, Gupta Store, has been at this 1515/5 address for a long time now. It is a small space, but we pack a lot into it. We sell all the usual things people need for their homes every day. My father started this place, and I have been behind the counter since I was a kid. It is a busy neighborhood, especially with Kotla Mubarakpur right there. We get all sorts of customers coming in. Some just want a pack of biscuits, others are doing their whole weekly shopping list. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work. We know most of the people who live in the buildings around here. We remember what brands they like or if they prefer a specific type of rice. It is a lot of standing on your feet and reaching for things on the top shelves. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road for a minute, and the neighbors complain, so we have to move fast. The shop isn't fancy, just wooden shelves and old floor tiles. We do not use a computer for everything; I still like writing things down in my ledger sometimes. It feels more real that way. It is a simple life running a store, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night.
