Suraj Creations

Our workspace is in the Green Building at E2/101 in Sitapuri. It’s a well-known landmark around here, especially being near Chanakya Place. We are also very close to Madina Masjidi, so we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which is quite nice. Suraj Creations is a place where we spend a lot of time surrounded by fabrics, threads, and different materials. It’s not the most organized looking place, as we always have something in the middle of being made. There are pieces of cloth and sketches laying around on the big wooden tables we use. The building stays relatively cool, but we still have the fans going full speed most of the time. We aren't a big factory or anything; it’s more of a workshop feel where a few of us sit and focus on our tasks. We get people from the neighborhood dropping by just to chat or check on things. The streets in Sitapuri are narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze getting here. We’ve been in this building for a while now and we like the community around us. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation where we focus on what’s in front of us. We try to keep things simple and honest, working away in our corner of the Green Building. There is always someone working here from early morning until late evening.
