Free Pustkalaya Foundation

You can find Free Pustkalaya Foundation at 90 Swarg Mandir Road. It is an old road with a lot of history, and we think our little foundation fits in quite well here. We are mostly about books and giving people a place to read. The space itself is filled with shelves that we have put together ourselves over the years. It is not the most organized library you will ever see, but there is a certain charm to the chaos of books piled everywhere. We do not have a digital catalog or anything high-tech; it is mostly just us remembering where we put things. The air always smells a bit like old paper and tea, which is how a place like this should be. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to see what is new on the shelves or to have a quick chat. We do not charge for anything, and we do not have any big corporate backers. It is just a simple operation funded by whoever can chip in a little. Some of the books have seen better days, with torn covers and yellowed pages, but they still have stories to tell. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves and trying to make more room for new arrivals. It is a quiet life on Swarg Mandir Road, but we feel like we are providing something useful for the folks who live around here.
