Down in East of Kailash at D-45A, you'll find our little spot. Foundation For Accessible Aquanir And Sanitation is what we do, but really, it's about water and keeping things clean. The office is right there in the middle of a busy part of Delhi. It gets noisy with all the traffic outside, but we manage. We spend our time looking at how to get clean water to people who don't have it. It’s not just the big stuff either, but the small pipes and the toilets that actually work. We have a lot of charts on the walls and usually a few maps spread out on the table. Someone is always brewing tea in the back. Dealing with sanitation isn't always the most glamorous thing to talk about over dinner, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to sell anyone anything or act like we have all the answers. We just look at the problems in the neighborhoods and try to find a way to fix them using whatever we have at hand. D-45A is where the planning happens before we head out into the streets. It's a bit dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We focus on the basics because that is where most of the trouble is. Just a few people trying to make the water flow a bit cleaner for the people living nearby. It's a lot of walking and talking but we enjoy it.
