Foodshaala Foundation

Foodshaala Foundation is located in a first-floor flat in Jangpura Extension. It’s Flat No. 8/37, and it definitely feels like a home more than a big corporate office. We like it that way because food is a personal thing, right? The kitchen area is usually the busiest part of the whole place. We’re always trying out different things or sorting through supplies. Jangpura is a nice neighborhood, quite central in South Delhi, so it’s easy for people to find us. The balcony looks out onto the street, and we often see the same people walking their dogs every evening. Inside, we’ve got desks squeezed into the rooms. It’s a bit of a maze with all the crates and boxes we have stored. We aren't a big organization with a lot of funding, so we keep things very simple. We do our own cleaning and mostly make our own lunch right here. It’s a practical setup. When someone calls, they’re usually talking to one of the three or four of us who are actually here every day. We handle the paperwork, the planning, and the outreach ourselves. It’s a lot of work, and sometimes we stay late just to finish the filing. But it feels good to be doing something that matters to the community around here. We just try to keep things moving along without making too much noise for the neighbors.
