Engg Consultant

I’m Dinesh Kumar, and I run my consulting work from Katwaria Sarai. My office is located at F-37, A-11. It’s a typical Delhi neighborhood, very crowded and full of life. I’ve been in this spot for many years now. Most of my work involves sitting at my desk, looking over plans and giving advice on technical projects. It’s not a big firm with secretaries and marble floors. It’s just me and sometimes an assistant helping with the paperwork. People find me because they need someone who knows the local regulations and how things actually get built in this city. I spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting people at tea stalls nearby to discuss their projects. The office is full of old files and rolls of blueprints. It’s a bit disorganized if you look at it from the outside, but I know where everything is. Katwaria Sarai is a place where everyone is trying to make a living, and I’m no different. I don’t use any fancy language to describe what I do. I just look at the problems and try to find a way to solve them. Some days are very long, especially when deadlines are close. I’ve lived in Delhi most of my life, so I’m used to the rush. I just keep my head down and do the work that comes my way. It is a humble living but I like the independence.
