Priyashi Design House

Priyashi Design House is basically run out of Flat No. 492 in the Green View Apartments over in Sector- 19, Dwarka. It’s a residential area, so it’s much quieter than a commercial market. We use one of the main rooms as our workspace where all the designing happens. There are usually scraps of fabric and sketches lying around on the tables. It’s a small operation, just a few of us working on different patterns and ideas. Since it is an apartment, it feels more like a home than a shop. We don’t have a big storefront with mannequins in the window. People usually come by after calling us first because the security gate at Pocket- 2 can be a bit strict about visitors. Working from Dwarka is nice because the light is good in the afternoons and it’s a bit more relaxed. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the stitching is decent. It’s not always easy keeping everything organized in a flat, but we make it work. Sometimes we have to move the dining table just to have enough space to lay out a large piece of cloth. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We aren't trying to be some big fashion brand. We just like making things that look good and fit right. It’s honest work and we enjoy being part of the community here in Sector- 19.
