Dhingra General Store

Dhingra General Store is tucked into the Basrurkar Market in Moti Bagh. This market is a busy place where people from all over the colony come to do their shopping. Our store has been a part of this market for many years now. We carry a wide variety of goods, mostly the kind of stuff you need for your house every day. From soaps to pulses, we try to keep it all in stock. The market can get quite packed in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. That's when we are the busiest. Our shop is small, so we’ve had to put shelves all the way up to the ceiling. We use a ladder to get things down for customers. It's a bit of a workout but it keeps us moving. The neighbors are like friends to us. We’ve seen their kids grow up and now those kids come in to buy things for their own homes. We don't have a computer system or anything, we just use a simple calculator and a bill book. It works fine for us. Sometimes the market gets a bit loud with all the vendors calling out, but that’s just the atmosphere here in Moti Bagh. We’re just a local family trying to run a decent shop. We don't have big dreams of opening more stores. We have some old boxes in the back for storage. The fan makes a noise.
