Debleela Foundation

We set up the Debleela Foundation here in Nehru Vihar, right in Block C. It’s basically run out of Debanshu Kumar’s place at House No. 73. People around here know the ground floor spot. We just wanted to do something useful for the neighborhood. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a few rooms where we get together and figure out how to help out. Delhi is a busy place and sometimes it feels like folks get left behind. We started this because we saw a lot of things that needed fixing or people who needed a bit of a hand. We don't have a huge team. It's just a couple of us who live nearby and care about what happens on these streets. Mostly, we spend our time talking to the locals and seeing what’s going on. Some days are slow and others we are running around quite a bit. It’s been a learning process for everyone involved. We didn't really know what we were doing at first, but we’re figuring it out as we go. If you are walking through Nehru Vihar, you’ll probably see us around. We’ve been at this address for a while now and we don’t plan on moving. It’s just home for us. We try to keep things simple and honest. No big speeches, just work.
