Akela-p Medical Gases is situated right in the heart of the city at Sankar Market in Connaught Place. Our unit is at number 73. Working in an old market area like this means there is always something going on outside our windows. We deal with medical gases, which involves a lot of logistics and keeping a close eye on the tanks and orders. The office itself is quite traditional, reflecting the style of Sankar Market. We have our files, our phones, and the equipment we need to manage the distribution side of things. It’s not a modern glass building; it has more character than that, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint here and there. We’ve been operating from this location for quite some time, and we like being central because it helps with getting things moved around the city. Most of our day is spent coordinating with hospitals or checking the safety valves on the cylinders we handle. There are only a handful of us working here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. From taking orders to checking the loading dock, we stay fairly occupied from Monday through Saturday. It’s a practical business and we don't feel the need for a lot of bells and whistles. We just focus on the cylinders and making sure the gas gets where it needs to go. It’s a simple routine and we stick to what we know.
