Childhood Corner

If you walk through Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh, you will find us at 148 A. We call the place Childhood Corner. It is a busy area, as anyone who knows Delhi will tell you. There is always the sound of people bargaining and horns honking out on the main road. Our shop is filled with things for kids, from little shoes to clothes that they grow out of way too fast. We spend a lot of our time folding things and putting them back where they belong after a busy rush. The space is not very large, so we have to stack things high up on the walls. We have an old ladder we use to reach the top shelves, and you have to be careful not to knock anything over. The floor is a bit uneven in the back corner, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We see a lot of families coming through, often looking tired from walking around the market all day. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many small items, it is a constant battle. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the shop quite hard, so we pull the awning down to keep things cool. We have been at this spot for a long time, and we have seen kids who used to come in with their parents now coming in with their own children.
