We have been here at 20 Ansari Road in Darya Ganj for a long time now. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how busy the streets get with all the books and paper everywhere. Our office is tucked in there among the rows of publishers. Most days are just us dealing with manuscripts and stacks of technical manuals that need to go out. It gets pretty dusty with all the paper around, but that is just how it is in Darya Ganj. We don’t really have a fancy reception area or anything like that. It is mostly just shelves and people working on computers. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We started out small and just kept going because people kept asking for more books on programming and computers. It’s a lot of work keeping up with how fast technology changes, but we try to keep the shelves full. Darya Ganj has a specific smell of old paper and ink that you get used to after a while. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our spot on Ansari Road stays pretty much the same. People drop in looking for specific titles, and usually, someone here knows exactly which pile it is buried under. It isn't a corporate setup where everything is shiny. It is just a place where we get the books ready and send them out to shops across the country. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
