Bhim Rao Ambedkar College

Bhim Rao Ambedkar College sits right on the Main Wazirabad Road in Yamuna Vihar. If you know Delhi, you know how loud and busy that road can be. There’s always a stream of rickshaws, buses, and cars passing by the front gate. Inside, it feels a little different, though you can still hear the city noise in the background. We have a decent-sized campus for this part of Delhi, with several blocks for different subjects. The brickwork on the buildings is a bit worn in places, but it shows how many students have passed through here over the years. We have a lot of students from East Delhi who just take a short bus ride to get here. The corridors are usually crowded during the change of classes, and the stairs are well-used. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything; it’s just a place for learning. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with books and tea cups. We talk about the traffic and the weather just as much as we talk about the syllabus. In the winter, the sun on the lawns is nice, and you’ll see groups of people sitting out there between their lectures. It’s a very local feel, and we don’t try to make it sound like something it isn’t. We are just a college in Yamuna Vihar doing our bit every day to keep things running.
