Batra Departmental Store

C-6 in the Main Market of Vasant Vihar is where we spend most of our time. Being near the Post Office means there is always someone walking by or looking for a place to park. We have been running Batra Departmental Store for a long time now. The shelves are usually pretty full with whatever people need for their kitchens or houses. It gets a bit cramped when we get a new shipment in, especially if the delivery truck shows up right when the market is at its busiest. We don’t really do anything fancy here. We just open up early, stock the milk and bread, and wait for the morning rush. The floor is a bit worn down in the spots where people stand to pay, but that’s just how it is when you’ve been in the same spot for years. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the handheld fans, which makes things a bit slow. We know most of the people who come in by their first names or at least by what they usually buy every Tuesday. It’s a loud area with the traffic outside, but inside we just try to keep things organized enough so you can find what you’re looking for without asking too many questions. It isn't a huge supermarket, just a regular corner store that tries to keep the basics on hand.
