Baljeet General Store

Our shop is right in the middle of Kidwai Nagar Central Market at number 29. It’s Baljeet General Store, and we’ve seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years. We keep a bit of everything on the shelves. You'll find flour, pulses, soaps, and those small things you always realize you ran out of right when you're cooking. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit in as much as we can. It’s usually pretty loud with the market noise outside and people coming in and out all day. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and we have boxes sitting in the aisle for an hour, which is a bit of a mess, but we clear it up fast. We know most of the people around here by name. It’s not a supermarket where everything is shiny. It’s just a regular store where you can get your daily stuff. My father started this, and now we just keep it going day by day. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when it’s quiet, though that doesn't happen much in the evenings. We deal with the usual problems like small change shortages or rain leaking near the front door. It’s a simple life running a shop here. We just stay open until late and make sure the milk stays cold and the bread is fresh. Everyone knows where we are.
