Avtar Fine Art

Avtar Fine Art is located right in the middle of the busy streets of Pahar Ganj. We are in Shop Number 22 within the Ram Nagar Market. If you have ever spent any time in Pahar Ganj, you already know how crowded and narrow the lanes can get around here. Our shop is actually quite small, but we keep it packed with art supplies and whatever pieces we are currently working on. It’s a very old part of the city, and our shop has that same worn-in, old feel to it. We deal with fine art, but in a very practical, hands-on sort of way. It is definitely not a high-end gallery; it’s a place where we get our hands dirty with paint, ink, and charcoal. The market outside is always loud with people shouting and rickshaws honking their horns, but once you step inside, we just try to focus on the work at hand. We have been here for a long time, and we’ve seen all sorts of people pass through the market. Some stop in just to see what we are doing, while others are looking for a specific frame or a bit of special paint. We don’t have any grand statements to make about the meaning of art. We just like the process of making things and helping others with their own artistic needs. It is a simple life in a pretty complicated neighborhood. We open up early and stay until the market finally starts to wind down.
