Assistant Engineer

You can find me at A 511 in the G D F Colony, which is part of Mayur Vihar Phase 3 in Delhi. I’m an Assistant Engineer, and this is where I handle all my professional tasks. My office is a small room that I’ve converted to hold my drafting table and my computer. Living and working in Mayur Vihar means I’m right in the middle of a very crowded and active part of Delhi. My work involves a lot of oversight for local building projects. I spend a significant amount of time traveling to different sites across the city to inspect progress. Delhi can be a tough place to work, with the extreme weather and the constant noise, but you get used to it. The office is usually a bit disorganized, with stacks of documents and technical manuals everywhere. I don’t have a team of assistants, so I do all the data entry and site logs myself. It’s a lot of responsibility, and sometimes the pressure of deadlines can be quite stressful. I try to stay focused on the technical details because that’s what matters in engineering. I’ve been in this colony for quite a while and have seen the area change a lot. My job is just to make sure the physical structures we build are safe for the people who live here. It’s a practical, everyday job that doesn’t leave much room for anything else.
