As A Counselor In The Princeton Review

I’m based over in Preet Vihar, working as a counselor for The Princeton Review. It’s a busy area, and there are always students coming in and out at all hours. My job is mostly sitting down with kids and their parents to talk about tests and college applications. It’s a lot of paperwork and even more talking. Some days the office is loud, other days it's just the sound of pens scratching on paper and clocks ticking. I spend a good chunk of my time looking at schedules and trying to figure out which classes fit best for which student. Being in Preet Vihar makes it easy for local families to drop by after school. It’s not a fancy setup, just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of prep books stacked up in the corner. I’ve seen a lot of students pass through these doors over the years. Some are nervous, some are excited, and most are just tired of studying for hours. I try to help them make sense of the process without making it sound more complicated than it already is. It’s regular work, really. I take my lunch breaks at the nearby shops and then get back to it. The walls are covered in posters about SATs and ACTs, which can be a bit much to look at all day, but it’s the job. I like the routine of it. There's no big mystery to what we do here; we just help people get where they're trying to go. It's just a regular office day for me.
