We are set up at number 61 in Swarn Park, which is over in the Udyog Nagar area of Mundka. This is a big industrial zone, and we’ve been dealing with timber here for quite some time. The yard is usually full of wood stacks of different sizes. It smells like sawdust most of the time, which we’ve gotten used to. Mundka is a bit out of the way for some, but for what we do, it’s the right place. We have a few saws and some space for loading trucks. It’s not a clean job; our clothes are usually covered in wood chips by the end of the day. We deal with various types of wood depending on what’s available and what people are looking for. The office part is just a small room in the corner where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It’s nothing special, just a place to sit for a minute and have a cup of chai. We work mostly with local builders and people who need raw material for furniture. The weather affects us quite a bit, especially when it rains, because we have to make sure everything stays dry. It’s a physical job and we spend most of the day on our feet. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just handle the business face to face or over the phone. It’s a traditional timber yard through and through.
