Garhbanikilo (Junior) College

Garhbanikilo (Junior) College is out here in Nayagarh. The address is just Garhbanikilo, which is how everyone knows it around here. It’s a bit of a walk from the main transport links, but the students don't seem to mind much. We’ve got the older kids, the ones in the junior college years. The building is basic, just stone and concrete, but it stays cool enough in the summer. We have classrooms with long benches and big chalkboards. It’s not a high-tech place. We mostly just focus on the textbooks and the exams. The staff room is always full of tea cups and old papers. We spend our days going from one class to the next. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to open the windows wider. Nayagarh is a quiet place for the most part, so there aren't many distractions for the students. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Most of the kids come from the nearby villages. They know us, and we know their families. It’s a simple setup. We just want to make sure they get their work done so they can move on to whatever is next for them. It’s just a local college doing what it can with what we have available in the village. In the evenings, the campus is very still, and you can hear the birds in the trees nearby. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs, hoping the students get what they need.
