Dr. Rama Chandra Samantray (Junior) College

This junior college is located in Samanta Roy Nagar, in the Gania area of Nayagarh. It is named after Dr. Rama Chandra Samantray and serves the young people in this part of Odisha. The college is a simple building that sits in a relatively quiet area. We mostly have students who are finishing their 11th and 12th grades. It is a critical time for them, and we provide the space and teachers they need to get through their exams. The campus is not very big, but it is functional. We have a small library and some basic classrooms. Many of our students travel from the smaller villages around Gania to get here. You will see a lot of bicycles parked in the shade of the trees during the day. The staff is quite small and everyone helps out with whatever needs to be done. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. The focus is strictly on the curriculum and helping the students move on to higher education. It feels like a small family here because the numbers aren't huge. We don't spend money on big advertisements; we just exist as a local resource for the students of Nayagarh. It is a basic, no-frills college for local kids.
